WHAT ARE NURSE CALL SYSTEMS?

A nurse call light system is a communication system placed in medical facilities such as hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics allowing patients in need of assistance to call for help with the push of a button, conveniently placed at the patient side. The nurse call button signals staff, at the Nurse Call master station and at Duty Stations in utility rooms, that a call has been placed by a patient. A nurse call light or corridor dome light outside the room lights up to indicate the type of call. This way a Nurse or Nurse Assistant can respond to the patient’s needs in a timely and efficient manner.

WHY CHOOSE INTERCALL SYSTEMS?

Nurse Call Systems help patients get the help they need when they need it. They are the primary communication system between patient or resident and staff, improving quality of care and enhancing patient satisfaction. When lives matter you want to choose the best. Intercall is the leader in nurse call systems, with over 47 years of experience. We design systems that are durable and simple yet highly effective.

NURSE CALL LIGHT / LED CORRIDOR LIGHT

The corridor dome lights are usually installed outside the patient’s rooms. It also installs above the patient’s bed in a multi-bed room such as intensive care, etc., to visually alert staff members of a call in the room.
The corridor dome lights can have up to 5 colors which are used to determine the type of call such as Normal Call, Toilet Emergency, Staff Emergency / Code Blue, Event Alarm, Service Reminder and others. The lights could be steady or flashing.

NURSE CALL STATION DEVICES

Patient stations for our nurse call systems are available in two basic models: the single bed unit and the dual bed station (for use by two patients.) Stations are available in 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-gang. Three and four-gang stations accommodate an array of optional features, including code blue, service reminder, event detector, intercom through the pillow speaker, bed exit alarm, status switch and connections to beds with side rail communications.

NURSE CALL STAFF STATION / NURSE CALL DUTY STATION

Our nurse call systems Staff / Duty & Staff stations provide the staff members with the facilities for engaging in two-way voice communications with the nurse call station. Examining rooms, day rooms and other services or public areas will use these stations for communication between medical staff members and the master station.

Duty stations have audio / visual indicators for the presence of three different levels of calls in the system: normal, emergency & staff emergency.

NURSE CALL BUTTON

It all starts with the push of a nurse call button, also referred to as a Nurse Call Bell.  We carry a variety of pendants depending on your facilities needs and the needs of the patient. From simple cord set push button, to pressure sensitive cord set, for patients with limited mobility, to pillow speakers, commonly used for patients to call a nurse as well as control the TV set and room lights.

PILLOW SPEAKERS

are used with patient stations to provide call origination to the nurse control station as well as TV and light controls.

GERIATRIC CORDSETS

are used when the patient cannot hand operate a call switch. The pancake design contains a switch to respond to body pressure.

PUSH BUTTON CORD

is used to place a patient call through a patient station. Hand conforming pendant for ease of operation.

NURSE CALL LIGHT

LED CORRIDOR DOME LIGHTS

LED Corridor Domes are the nurse call system’s basic device for visually signaling the presence, source and urgency of patient calls to medical personnel in corridors. Whether with sounder or without, mounted above (or next to) the doorway of each patient room or installed at corridor intersections to denote a zone of rooms, the dome LED’s will produce a bright light and tone that is easily seen and heard both at great distances and under high-ambient light conditions. As a result, nurses and staff members are quickly directed to the source of a call. The dome’s LEDs distinctly differentiate types of indication for normal calls versus emergency calls and clearly establishes the patient priorities.
